Provides technical support in specialty areas within the Reagent Production laboratory. Generates data that requires a high degree of interpretation and training of which no detailed and explanatory procedures may exist. Expansive mastery of technical material and analytical ability required. Duties include a higher complexity of troubleshooting, teaching, training, production ability, and client consultation than required of other personnel. Requires high caliber focused individual.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical, chemical or biological sciences with one of the following semester credits completed:
    • 25 credits of biology, 16 credits of chemistry, and 3 credits of math
    • 25 credits of chemistry, 16 credits of biology, and 3 credits of math
  • Three years of ARUP Reagent Laboratory experience OR
    • Five years of experience performing testing cell culture and/or pertinent manufacturing.

Physical and Other Requirements:

  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Mobility: The person in this position needs to occasionally move between work sites and inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Communicate: Frequently communicate with others.
  • PPE: Biohazard laboratory environment that requires use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • ARUP Policies and Procedures: To conduct self in compliance with all ARUP Policies and Procedures.
  • Authorized to Work: Must be a citizen of the United States or authorized to work in the United States.
  • Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. 
  • Fine Motor Control: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with the whole hand as in handling.
  • Vision: Having close, far, and peripheral visual acuity to perform a variety of tasks such as make general observations of depth and distance.
  • English: Ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
