Job Description Join our team in Asset Maintenance for a chance to make a meaningful impact for Avista’s customers through programmatic management and upgrades of our electrical distribution system. This highly-collaborative team is focused on increased reliability, system efficiency and automation capabilities. This position supports meeting project management objectives and business goals. The Lead Construction Inspector directs, controls, and coordinates contract work. This position oversees inspection work with a team of internal and external inspectors. As needed, the Lead Construction Inspector Coordinator facilitates crew onboarding, highlighting safety expectations and Avista practices/standards. As a standards subject matter expert, this position provides technical assistance to the Asset Maintenance team.

Requirements Five or more years of inspection experience in construction and/or 10 or more years with electric utility operations, construction practices and standards experience. Prefer leadership experience as a foreman or general foreman. Knowledge of electric line construction maps and drawings, basic electricity, line safety, right of way and accounting procedures. Experience and understanding of job estimating, bidding, negotiation, contract administration and managing projects. Experience with customers. Understanding of state, national and federal codes and regulations, computer applications including work management and financial systems software, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver’s license. Other combinations of education/experience may be considered.
