Description JOB SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the VP of Lands & Natural Resources, the employee will be responsible for active management of the following natural resources on Doyon lands: gold, base, and precious metals, and the placer mining program; and supportive input on the aggregates program, and oil & natural gas. This position requires collaboration with departmental staff and consultants, as well as interaction with company executives, industry, and government representatives will be required. Doyon is the largest private landowner in Alaska, with title to over 12.5 million acres under terms of the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Acquire a thorough understanding of the history of exploration and mineral data available on Doyon lands.
• Understand and organize existing and future geochemical data to integrate with current exploration models and industry trends to assist Doyon with prioritizing the marketing of properties.
• Prepare prospectuses of properties for marketing and developing mineral lease opportunities.
• Manage Doyon's core for use as a marketing tool.
• Identify and attend conferences that bring value to the marketing of Doyon mineral properties.
• Assist VP of Lands and Natural Resources in developing and managing mineral exploration income and expenses for the annual budget.
• Monitor current mineral lease activities on Doyon lands, conduct site visits, review and evaluate reports and effectiveness of the exploration programs.
• Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISION:
• This position temporarily supervises geologic aids during seasonal fieldwork.
Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors degree in geology
• Minimum seven to eight years of management in geology or related fields
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office, ACCESS and/or other database programs, PowerPoint and GIS (preferably Arc/Info)
• General familiarity of ANCSA and Alaska regulations relating to resource exploration and development
• Demonstrated ability to perform resource evaluations; contract negotiation skills a plus
• Alaska background and geographic familiarity
• Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination – effective September 1, 2021, all new employees hired to work at Doyon, Limited are required to be fully vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus on the day they begin work. "Fully Vaccinated" is defined as: more than two (2) weeks following receipt of the second dose of a two-dose vaccine, or more than two (2) weeks following receipt of one (1) dose of a single-dose vaccine, including any booster shoots authorized by federal or state health authorities.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Must be prepared for outdoor, primitive work conditions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is generally sedentary, requiring routine walking, standing, bending, and carrying items weighing less than forty pounds, but occasional fieldwork may require the ability to hike in difficult terrain with heavy items. Must be prepared for strenuous fieldwork.
