Description

JOB SUMMARY:  The Systems Engineer- Applications will utilize best practices and methodologies to deploy, upgrade, and support Microsoft Cloud and on premise Solutions for our clients.  This position will be expected to accomplish a full range of system engineering duties, which range from, cloud architecting, migrations, installation of software/service packs, to documentation, testing, quality assurance, and client support independently and with a team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Engineering and Project Delivery

  • Deploy and support the administration and operations of Azure Services and other third-party applications supporting Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365)
  • Install and upgrade D365 ERP and CRM software and related solutions
  • Install service packs, hot fixes, and roll-ups for D365 ERP and CRM software and related solutions
  • Install and configure Microsoft SQL Server and related components
  • Learn, utilize, and promote the Arctic IT’s Implementation Methodology and Deployment Best Practices
  • Function as a SharePoint resource and support implementation projects with SharePoint Online including migration of SharePoint on-premises files to SharePoint Online
  • Consult and advise on best practices on security management around D365 ERP and CRM and related applications
  • Ensures project documentation is complete, current, and recorded appropriately
  • Effectively applies industry and firm best practices consistently
  • Develop custom SQL queries and stored procedures
  • Complete and maintain project documentation such as: Infrastructure diagrams, installation documentation, upgrade assessments, client profiles, etc.

Maintenance & Support

  • Performs Application Maintenance using Visual Studio DevOps , D365, Azure, Office 365 administrative tasks, (users, security, Dynamics Lifecycle Services)
  • Support the administration and operations of Azure Services and other third-party applications supporting D365
  • Upgrade D365 software and related solutions
  • Install service packs, hot fixes, roll-ups for D365 software and related solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues with the application, operating systems, and databases
  • Keep up with leading edge technologies from Microsoft
  • Provide technical application support for clients
  • Assist with escalation support for ArcticAscend or ArcticCare support requests

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related discipline (i.e. Math, Information Technology) or equivalent field related experience
  • 2+ years of experience in Information Systems service-based environment
  • Strong experience in deploying, maintaining and upgrading Microsoft D365 ERP/CRM SaaS solutions and environments
  • Previous Microsoft D365 Administration experience
  • Technical knowledge of Microsoft operating systems, networking environments, and related technologies, preferably as evidenced by industry-standard certifications
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server. High-Availability and Data Redundancy experience is desired
  • SQL development skills (write queries/stored procedures, identify/debug/fix data issues) SQL Server Management skills (e.g. monitor activity logs, backup/restore databases, import/export data)
  • Consulting experience
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance
  • Applicants subject to government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements related to the clearance process

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities, and abilities. Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized, and professional when on video meetings. Travel is required and varies around 25%.
