Description

JOB SUMMARY: The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner works across Arctic IT to facilitate, coordinate, manage, and deliver HR initiatives.  The HR Business Partner collaborates with organizational leaders to facilitate HR strategic goal attainment.  This role develops strong working relationships with management and employees to build and maintain the integrity of the HR department within the organization. This position collaborates and integrates with other HR team members throughout the Doyon (parent company) organization(s) to develop HR solutions for maintaining an engaged and growing workforce. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Analyzes and makes recommendations to address HR related organizational gaps.
  • Provides internal leadership and delivery on Doyon Shareholder outreach and engagement activities.  Develops and implements a multi-faceted approach which may include education, employment, enhanced relationships, and other methods.
  • Develops programs and initiatives to improve the employee experience.
  • Works throughout the organization to optimize the professional development methods and programs (including internal mentorship opportunities.)
  • Serves as program manager for developing or enhancing frameworks and processes such as career progression paths, retention planning, and learning & development opportunities.
  • Provides recommendations to management on non-compensation benefits and assists with implementation when necessary.
  • Manages employee engagement and feedback surveys, reviews feedback and collaborates with management for potential changes
  • Participates in fulfilling recruiting and talent acquisition needs to help grow the organization.
  • Works with Recruiting to contribute to the new hire onboarding process and participates in New Hire Orientation Sessions.
  • Provides overall leadership and accountability for new team member acclimation activities such as buddy program, onboarding check-ins, onboarding survey data, etc.
  • Owns the administration and facilitation of HR projects and programs including employee engagement, annual employee compliance training and related activities, and performance management.
  • Assists with the development of innovative activities to enhance and promote Arctic IT’s recruitment brand.
  • Handles confidential and non-routine information in a professional manner.
  • Works collaboratively with individuals at all levels in the organization in a team environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring personal / professional information is accurate and maintained.
  • Complies with all company and client safety standards.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Works with parent company on other HR related initiatives.
  • Plans, organizes, and controls activities and actions of the human resources function.
  • Contributes to the development of HR goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Develops, revises, and recommends personnel policies and procedures including updates to the company handbook.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and people processes.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related discipline or substitute equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five (5+) years of HR experience or equivalent relevant experience in a professional environment
  • Well-rounded knowledge of commonly used HR concepts, practices and procedures
  • Experience in delivering solutions simultaneously to multiple organizations (such as divisions, business units, subsidiaries, etc.)
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience using UltiPro and/or other Ultimate Software or HRIS applications a plus
  • Experience in technical recruiting a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and personal auto insurance 
  • Applicants subject to pre-employment background check and drug and government security investigations and must meet eligibility requirements related to the clearance process.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:  The majority of work for this role is performed in a home office and/or professional office and interacts with a wide variety of people with differing functions, personalities and abilities.  Telecommuters are expected to have sufficient home office space that appears neat, organized and professional when on video meetings. Travel is required.
