Truck Service Tech
Days and Hours: Monday - Thursday 2:15 PM - 12:45 AM
•The Truck Technician must be capable of removal and installation of components by following the appropriate service manual.
•The worker must determine which parts are reusable using pertinent Service or Parts information, disassembles and properly reassembles components, and demonstrates proper use of available diagnostic equipment and special tools.
•The Truck Technician will troubleshoot most failures without major disassembly, as well as understand and use schematics, blueprints, and drawings relative to electrical, oil, and fuel systems.
•This person will understand and utilize exchange components when appropriate.
•They must be familiar with various exchange items offered by Caterpillar and evaluate price of exchange vs. cost of repair.
•The Truck Technician will complete work assignments within the allotted time and secure and maintain appropriate licensing.
•Qualified applicants will have minimum 3 years experience on full chassis including trouble-shooting and repair of CAT engines.
•Must comply with all safety and company regulations.
•Maintains good work habits and presents a favorable business image towards customers served by the company.
•Knowledge of other diesel engines, CDL, and DOT regulations would be desirable.
•The worker must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion in order to retrieve stocked parts.
•Endure prolonged stooping, kneeling, crouching and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools.
•Endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use the hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.
