Our Meridian/Boise SBA Department is looking for an SBA Packager to be responsible for analyzing financial data and preparing credit authorizations, analyzing portfolio credit quality, assisting SBA Lender in presenting credit requests to Loan Approval Committees, identifying cross-sell opportunities with customers and making appropriate referrals. May also co-manage client relationships and portfolio credit quality with SBA Lender.

Our ideal candidate's minimum requirements are:
1 .High school diploma or equivalent.
2. 5 years of five years of banking experience directly related to SBA Lending
3. Knowledge of commercial loan policies and procedures as well as proper loan documentation.
4. Knowledge of SBA SOP’s as related to loan processing
5. Good Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills
6. Excellent communication skills both verbal and written to maintain a heavy volume of correspondence, personal contact, and telephone communication.
7. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
8. Ability to multi-task and handle complex tasks efficiently. Strong
organizational skills.
9. Excellent customer service skills
10. Requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, a thorough
knowledge of credit, a solid understanding of collateral requirements,
strong relationship management abilities, sales skills, well developed
written, communication, and presentation skills.
11. Has a working knowledge of SBA electronic communications including
E-Tran and other programs.
12. Accuracy and organizational skills for the management of a heavy workload with minimal errors and/or omissions.

Requirements Summary/Objective

Under the direction of the Manager, is responsible for analyzing financial data and preparing credit authorizations, analyzing portfolio credit quality, assisting SBA Lender in presenting credit requests to Loan Approval Committees, identifying cross-sell opportunities with customers and making appropriate referrals. May also co-manage client relationships and portfolio credit quality with SBA Lender.

Essential Functions

1. Works with SBA Lender to manage customer relationships and loan portfolios. Acts as support and backup to the lender as needed or in the lenders absence.
2. Maintains an updated and thorough knowledge of the SBA standard operating procedures as well as SBA underwriting techniques and eligibility requirements and must be able to communicate this knowledge to internal and external customers. Maintains a working knowledge of all SBA forms and statements along with how to complete the documentation as called for by the SBA.
3. Spreads and/or analyzes financial statements of potential and existing customers utilizing the bank’s accepted analytical credit criteria.
4. Completes, for the SBA officer’s use, a credit authorization following established SBA and MWB guidelines for both underwriting and loan eligibility. Assist the officer in obtaining loan approval from the appropriate authority. Processes and follows up on SBA forms that require additional screening.
5. Maintains an ongoing relationship with SBA personnel to include the local district office along with the three SBA national offices.
6. Prepares and/or oversees the preparation of loan applications and supporting documents and loan information sheets for new and existing accounts.
7. Maintains knowledge of what issues are critical with SBA to avoid repair or denial of guarantee.
8. Conducts credit investigations when necessary
9. Works with SBA Lender in monitoring customer accounts and loan portfolios to detect changes that might affect their credit standing.
10. Recommends to SBA lender approvals and/or changes in new or existing credit lines.
11. Performs annual term loan reviews.
12. Monitors compliance with loan agreement covenants.
13. Accompanies SBA Lender on sales calls/customer calls.
14. Acts as liaison between SBA Lender and other departments, as required.
15. Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise.
Physical Demands

Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of travel by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
