POSITION REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• High School diploma, or equivalent
• Disaster Preparedness and/or previous experience working in a Safety/Security setting, preferred
• One (1) year in Security/Law Enforcement, Military Police or similar duties
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY:
• Ability to work with computers
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and willing to help foster a positive working environment
• Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality and privacy
• Interact professionally with all customers, including older adults, disabled persons and co-workers, individually and as a part of a team
• Focused attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle multiple items/tasks, prioritize as required and adapt favorably to changing priorities
• Effective ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions, in a timely manner and within the context of the situation at hand
• Problem solving ability
• Ability to effectively respond to emergency and/or crisis situations
• Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and verbal direction in English

Requirements 1. Community Security
a. Performs physical patrols of all Regents Point buildings and grounds
b. Monitors video surveillance system
c. Protects against fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry and solicitors.
d. Responds to emergencies
e. Communicates with Reception Desk for any unusual circumstances
f. Cover Front Desk in emergencies or when scheduled
2. Resident/Family/Client/Guest/Staff Relations
a. Assist nursing staff with lifting and/or emergency situations
b. Report issues of security, health and/or safety to appropriate supervisor as soon as practicable
c. Ensure resident right are preserved
d. Foster appropriate communication and relations between Resident, Family, Client, Guest and Staff
3. Regulatory Compliance
a. Be knowledgeable and understand Front Desk emergency response systems
b. Follow established policies and procedures
c. Understand and comply with all regulatory standards set forth by governing entities
d. Assure timely completion of all required reports and forms
