The Maintenance Technician contributes to the success of by ensuring a well maintained, safe, clean and presentable environment in an Affordable Housing community in alignment with’s Mission, Vision, and Core Beliefs.

• High School diploma, or equivalent
• Minimum two (2) years prior experience working in maintenance position preferably in Senior Housing, CCRC, Assisted Living or Skilled Nursing setting
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical, generator, general maintenance.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to demonstrate interpersonal skills and willing to help foster a positive working environment
• Maintain appropriate level of confidentiality and privacy
• Interact professionally with all customers, including older adults, disabled persons and co-workers, individually and as a part of a team
• Focused attention to detail and the ability to effectively handle multiple items/tasks, prioritize as required and adapt favorably to changing priorities
• Effective ability to make appropriate judgments and decisions, in a timely manner and within the context of the situation at hand
• Problem solving ability
• Ability to effectively respond to emergency and/or crisis situations
• Ability to take initiative and be a self-starter

RESPONSIBILITIES include but are NOT limited to:
Delivery of Services and Programs:
• Make daily rounds of the community to maintain physical plant.
• Perform routine maintenance of apartment units, facility and grounds; complete work orders as requested.
Administration Duties:
• Complete service requests forms and record on maintenance log.
• Maintains inventory records of appliances and machines of each apartment and of the facility.
Resident / Family / Client / Guest Relations:
• Maintain apartments in good repair, facility and grounds well maintained, and completes work orders in a timely manner.
• Prepare common areas for events.
